Specialty Kitchen

Detroit Road, Lakewood, Ohio.
Storefront lunch-counter, run by foreign woman and her daughters. There were attempts to “fix it up” but it’s still lunch-counter-like, diner-like. Check out the lunch—homemade soup. Breakfast is average. Closed Sunday. I sat at the counter with the ceiling fan between me and the fluorescent light, doing weird things with light and shadows.

wow - where on Detroit Ave in Lakewood was this, any idea? It's certainly not there anymore, I can tell you that much. What a completely generic name!

There's a place on Warren just north of Detroit that looks like it's been there since about 1956 or something, or maybe more like 1965 - I've never been to it and now I can't remember the name of it, but a friend of mine sez she eats breakfast there pretty much every week. I keep forgetting to check it out though.. Does this location sound familiar to you at all?

My notes say, simply: "Detroit Rd./Downtown Lakewood
somewhere

Not much help.

I can't think of what that place on Warren is. My 1989 memory is pretty bad. It sounds interesting, let me know if you check it out!
