Maria's Roman Room

Maria’s Roman Room
11826 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio.
My notes say: Good Outside Art – in somewhat dramatic fashion, but my notes fail to elaborate.
Lot of red light inside. Okay bar when the TV’s not on a sitcom. Don’t know about the restaurant—pizza has a decent reputation.

Maria's Roman Room is still there, thankfully! Although now it's just called Maria's (except for an old sign above their rear entrance, which is now closed, I think..). It's a really good Italian restaurant still, and we eat there every so often for a "nice" place to eat. Their pizza is very good, yes, as is anything else I've ever had there. They give you lots of food, and also lots of really good garlic bread with your meal.

One thing that has changed about them though, is that they used to have *the* best mozzarella sticks anywhere - you could tell they were hand-cut pieces of mozz cheese that they'd made there, and the sauce and cheese were both really good. But now they are using factory-made mozzarella sticks that they get from somewhere else, so they're basically the same as anywhere else that has them. The bar is still there, but I've never hung out there..

Oh yeah, another thing I like about Maria's is that it emanates a really strong and delicious-smelling aura/scent of fresh garlic for about half a block around the building -- makes me hungry every time I get near it!

Thanks for the updates!
I can't remember the place, but I might if I went back. It might have been one of the places I sat at the bar and tried to watch basketball.
