The Spot

Huron Mall, Downtown—Huron btwn. E. 9th and E. 12th—Cleveland, OH. REALLY small place, lunch counter—literally “under the stairs”—in a corner—six stool counter—new place—little personality except that of the guy running it—knows everyone. Mr. Saunders comes in—black guy, old, works in bldg., architect—sits in the TINY corner—says ‘cause he’s the poorest tenant in the bldg., that’s his seat. Chili looks good. What I have is fair. Breakfast, too.

Hi, i was looking over your blog and didn't
quite find what I was looking for. I'm looking for
different ways to earn money... I did find this though...
a place where you can make some nice extra cash "secret shopping."
I made over $900 last month putting spam messages on peoples blogs!

I remember you talking about The Spot and it always intrigued me, but I never really got a chance to go check it out. It really seems like there used to be a lot more cool/weird little places downtown than there are now. Too many food court things down there now. And places that are more geared towards people who want to spend a lot of money on lunch..

I think maybe a lot of stuff got torn down when they remodeled the whole downtown and built the baseball stadium (sorry, I mean "field") but I'm not sure. It really changed a LOT after I moved away, and I haven't been back there enough, downtown, to even comprehend how much it's changed.
