P.J.'s Luncheonette

Cleveland, OH. A little lunch counter in the Euclid Arcade, same four regular employees working. Cheapest food in downtown Cleveland—hamburger lunch special with coleslaw, and daily specials. This place is amazing, dirty, dim, with fluorescent lights, long counter. There are cheap breakfast specials, too.

PJ's is still around, though the Euclid Arcade is now called the Colonial Marketplace, and PJs moved over to what used to be the Colonial Arcade area. It's a lot cleaner than it used to be, but still one of the cheapest places downtown to have lunch. I never eat there anymore though since I stopped eating meat. Not much there for me - their grilled cheeses just aren't that great, unfortunately. Same people still working and running the joint who were there in 1989 too - I'm sure if you went in there today, the lady would ask you how you've been!

That's happened in me in places-- I was gone for YEARS and went back and the people working there acted like I had been in there yesterday!

I really liked the cole slaw.

Yeah! I really did like their cole slaw too, and I rarely ever eat cole slaw in most places like this..
